Record Store Day 2019 happened on Saturday, April 13th, and this year there were three Disney albums released; "Mickey Mouse Disco", "Disney Songs the Satchmo Way" by Louis Armstrong and "Simply Sherman, Disney Hits from the Sherman Brothers". I was lucky enough to find all three records at my local Sunrise Records store here in Canada.
I have noticed that my "Mickey Mouse Disco" album is slightly different from the ones I am seeing online. Mine says "Disney", while I see most online say "Walt Disney Presents", and the Disneyland Records logo is missing from the top corner of mine. So, I am guessing that the Canadian version is slightly different from the US version.
Here are pictures of my 3 records.
I only just discovered this blog - I guess I am too late, but I have gone back to read many old posts, and have really enjoyed what you wrote! I love these old records, and the wonderful artwork (or photos) on the covers. I miss the joys of vinyl albums, even with their problems (pops, clicks). Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are enjoying the blog!
ReplyDeleteI love buying new Disney vinyl and always open them (sealed vinyl seams like a crime) and listen to them. I will also always digitize them to make it possible to take with me in the car etc, but still prefer the listening 'experience' I get from putting a vinyl record on and listening from start to finish!
